Sommelier Wine

Brunello di Montalcino 2016 DOCG: Sangiovese grapes, vines aged 20-42 years, northeast-facing vineyards at 400m altitude with clay, limestone, and sandy soil. Harvested on September 28, 2016, from high-density vineyards. A harmonious blend of tradition and terroir.

Production Technique

Grapes are hand-picked and softly destemmed, with berry selection by hand. Fermentation occurs over 8 days of cryomaceration followed by 24 days of normal fermentation with traditional methods, maintaining a temperature of 30°C. Malolactic fermentation takes place in steel tanks. The wine is then transferred to Slavonian oak barrels (10 hl and 32 hl) in January, where it ages for 36 months. It is finally bottled on April 12, 2021, resulting in 8300 bottles of 0.75 liters, 80 bottles of 1.5 liters, and 10 bottles of 3 liters. The wine has an actual alcoholic strength of 14.20% Vol, a dry extract of 31.40 g/l, and total acidity as tartaric acid at 6.0 g/l.
