Sommelier Wine

Experience the excellence of Valpolicella Classico Superiore in Alessandro, a premium wine sourced from a century-old vineyard nestled in the high hills of Negrar. Rooted in tradition yet elevated through Farina's innovative winemaking journey, Alessandro embodies the essence of fruit and terroir expression, meticulously preserved in raw concrete tulip-shaped vessels.

This prestigious project pays homage to Alessandro Farina, Claudio's father, with just 10,000 bottles crafted in celebration of his 80th birthday. Alessandro's youthful years were marked by overseeing the family's table wine production, from vine pruning to late harvests of perfectly ripened grapes. He held the responsibility of being the first to savor the wine after its maturation in ancient wooden casks.

While the family has always focused on the future, Alessandro's 80th birthday presented a unique opportunity to revisit the wine that once graced childhood and enhance it in his honor. Embrace the heritage and craftsmanship that define Alessandro, a true testament to the past, present, and future of our winemaking legacy.

Production Technique

Following a gentle crushing and destemming, controlled fermentation commences in stainless steel tanks at 25°C. Frequent pump-overs and a one-third fermentation delestage optimize aroma and structure extraction without sacrificing the wine's freshness. Natural malolactic fermentation takes place in wood. The wine then matures for a minimum of 1 year in 20 and 30-hectoliter Slavonian oak barrels, followed by 6 months in rough concrete tulip-shaped tanks before final bottle aging.
